02 · INVENTORY
In most industries one product is one product. In apparel a single style becomes a colour, which becomes a size run, which becomes a fit, a season, a delivery window, and a set of account-specific rules. Generic inventory tools model the first layer and leave you managing the rest in a spreadsheet.
Style, colour, size, and fit are modelled as first-class structure rather than a concatenated SKU string. Availability answers arrive at the level a buyer actually asks about — a size run within a colour within a style.
Inventory is tracked where it actually sits: shelf, bin, rack, showroom, rep kit, sample closet, warehouse zone, or a 3PL. "Do we have it" and "where is it" become the same question with one answer.
Every pick, return, transfer, and receipt updates the count at the moment it occurs rather than in an overnight batch. What the system says is what the floor has.
Each adjustment, transfer, and short-pick records who did it, when, and why. When a number looks wrong, the history explains it instead of starting an argument.
MODULES INVOLVED
Because one product is never one product. A single style explodes into colour and size combinations, each of which needs its own count, its own allocation, and its own availability answer. Tools designed for single-SKU products force you to either create hundreds of unrelated SKUs or track the size run in a spreadsheet alongside the system.
Yes. Stock is tracked per physical location, including warehouse zones, showrooms, rep kits, sample closets, and a 3PL, with transfers recorded between them. Availability can be read per location or consolidated.
Yes. When demand across buyers exceeds available stock, Chukwu Floor allocates against the orders in the queue rather than letting the first pick silently consume inventory another account was promised.
Counts are uploaded or entered against specific locations and reconciled against the live count, with variances recorded and attributable. The goal is continuous counting rather than one quarterly event that invalidates the previous quarter.
